More apps…

Hello everyone

As our last post on apps was very popular,  we have added two more that you may find interesting and beneficial for your child.

1 Spelling City – VocabularySpellingCity

2 Reading Eggs – Eggy Words

VocabularySpellingCity is a fun way to learn spelling and vocabulary words by playing engaging learning games using any word list. The most popular activities are a spelling test, HangMouse, and the vocabulary games. The most popular lists are Sound Alike Words, Compound Words, the Hunger Games, and SAT Vocabulary.  Students can access any of the hundreds of thousands of word lists available on VocabularySpellingCity including lists created by their parents or teachers.  The app includes seven learning games and activities.

Spelling City is available through itunes for ipad or iphone only.

Reading Eggs now has its first app, Eggy Words! This app will help your child recognise and learn the essential sight words that make up a large part of everyday reading. They will do this while playing a fun game that will keep them engaged for many hours. Eggy Words will work on ipads, iphones and android phones and tablets.

There is a free version, Eggy 100 which contains the first 100 sight words or you can purchase the full version, Eggy 250 containing 250 sight words. Both apps are available to download on iTunes or Google Play.

My 3&6 year olds enjoy playing an algebra concept App (Android – but also available on Windows and iPad).
It’s called DragonBox. You can try the “lite” version for free before buying the full game. They have Dragon Box & Dragon Box2 for different age ranges.
