Welcome back to school.
Parents and Home Tutors with students in Year 3, 5 and 7 will soon be receiving the National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) test packages for 2012.
We expect the tests to arrive at the school during the week beginning May 7. They will be posted out to families from Friday May 11. Our school has an extension for the return of NAPLAN tests because of possible postage delays.
Please ensure your teacher has your current address by May 7.
Included with the student test booklets are instructions on how to supervise/conduct each assessment task. The four test tasks – (Numeracy, Language Conventions, Reading and Writing) should be spread over three days. We recommend you follow the timetable included with the test papers. Please replace lessons/activities in the regular SIDE program to allow testing to take place.
When the tasks are completed please return them in the reply paid envelope provided (families within Australia only). Unfortunately, our overseas families cannot use the reply paid service. We apologise for this and ask that you cover the cost of postage for the return of the test booklet only.
If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact either your teacher or myself.
Good luck and I trust you find completion of these tasks not too stressful!
Lin Wolyniec (Acting Deputy Principal)
